Udder Control is based on an image sourced from a bovine beauty pageant. It is rendered using the traditionally masculine craft of "leather tooling." The vegetable tanned leather I use comes from cow hide. When wet, it becomes spongy, pliable, and impressionable. I am interested in the way the characteristics of this leather, resilient yet malleable, mirror the desirable qualities of femininity as well as a valued commodified body for labor
